Shaun Parekh started his legal career at Miller Thomson LLP within the financial services group, advising major banks, lenders, and borrowers on both local and international secured lending files. Transitioning to a role as Vice President, Legal Counsel at a global rating agency, Shaun was integral to assigning credit ratings on private and public securitization transactions across various asset classes vital to the Canadian market for asset-backed securities, global corporate credits and project financings, in addition to authoring and maintaining various methodologies and articles relating to the credit rating process. Shaun’s currently advises on a variety of securitizations, structured finance, equipment financing and traditional lending transactions, in addition to speaking on industry-specific panels.
