Biographie

Amelia Leckey is a partner in the Toronto office. She was a summer student and also completed her articles with Miller Thomson LLP, returning to join the firm after being called to the Ontario Bar in February 2000.

Ms. Leckey’s practice focuses on all aspects of general insurance liability, with an emphasis on life and disability litigation.  She also represents various professionals in negligence actions.   Further Ms. Leckey handles product liability defences for clients such as small airplane engine manufactures, clothing manufacturers, and food product manufacturers.   In addition she represents defendants in  occupier’s liability, property damage and motor vehicle accident claims.  She provides defences to municipalities and the Crown.

As part of her practice Ms. Leckey is required to attend both mandatory and private mediations. She has conducted arbitrations, appeared before various administrative tribunals. She has conducted trials and appeals on her own and has assisted as junior counsel.

Ms. Leckey is a frequent writer and presenter on issues affecting the insurance industry ensuring she is on top developments impacting her clients.  She is committed to providing diligent, attentive and cost-effective service to her clients, including, among other things, ongoing knowledge sharing.
