( Disponible en anglais seulement )Eve Munro practices in the areas of intellectual property law, licensing and technology, and has an extensive background in business and commercial law.
Eve has assisted clients in a variety of industries in acquiring, protecting, exploiting and enforcing intellectual property rights, including educational institutions, high technology firms, clients in the telecommunications industry, manufacturers, distributors in the computer industry and computer service providers, as well as the charitable and not-for-profit sector.
Eve's practice includes trade-mark and copyright prosecution and licensing, franchising, technology acquisitions and advising on privacy law compliance.
Eve is experienced in assisting clients with e-commerce issues and transactions. Her experience in this area includes advising on electronic commerce and Internet related issues, including registration and protection of domain names, contracting on the Internet, web site content review, privacy issues, liability, jurisdictional and infringement issues; negotiating and drafting web site development agreements; negotiation and drafting of Internet service agreements; preparation of terms of service for web sites; advising on due diligence issues relating to technology acquisitions and financing of technology companies; advising on copyright and trade-mark issues relating to the Internet. Also in the area of information technology, her practice includes software acquisitions, agreements for software development and distribution and drafting and negotiating licences in a variety of contexts.
Eve has particular experience in the educational industry, including acting for a distance education university and college, British Columbia’s educational television network, on-line educational service providers and First Nations schools and educational organizations and in relation to intellectual property issues as they apply to charities and the not-for-profit sector.
Eve has written and spoken frequently in the areas of privacy and intellectual property law and licensing.
