Game Seer invests in Breaking Walls in US$1.75M round of project financing

On March 27, 2020, Game Seer Venture Partners GmbH (“Game Seer”) completed an agreement to participate in a US$1.75 million financing round jointly with Canada Media Fund (“CMF-FMC”) and Kickstarter PBC (“Kickstarter”), of the Montreal-based video game developer Breaking Walls. Game Seer’s investment is structured as a mezzanine financing instrument (venture debt). Breaking Walls is a Canadian video game development studio founded in 2015 in Montréal, Quebec by industry veterans Laurent Bernier, Nathanael Dufour and Sebastien Nadeau, which specializes in highly immersive, innovative and story-driven interactive products. The financing provided by Game Seer will be used toward the development of its first game “AWAY: The Survival Series”.

Game Seer, formed in July 2019, is a German-based investment company with a focus on the gaming industry and particularly on providing early-stage financing to games developers and studios. Game Seer states that until 2022, a total of 10 million Euros will be invested in games projects via growth financing.
