On July 2, 2024, Turning Point Youth Services (Turning Point) and WoodGreen Community Services (WoodGreen) announced the completion of the merger of both organizations. Through this integration, they will enable a more effective and integrated approach to the provision of comprehensive support services for youth in the GTA.
Following completion of the transaction, WoodGreen and Turning Point will be able to leverage their joint expertise to respond to the growing and complex needs of young people living in Toronto. Furthermore, they will be able to provide a more robust continuum of care offering to young people living in Toronto. Some of these programs and services will include mental health, employment, youth justice, and housing assistance as well as supports for newcomer youth.
WoodGreen is one of the largest social service agencies in Toronto, serving more than 37,000 people each year. The agency offers over 75 programs and services tackling the social determinants that affect the health and well-being of individuals in the community.
Turning Point is an accredited, non-profit agency serving youth (12 to 24 years of age) and their families in the east end of Toronto. Turning Point’s mission is to empower youth to make positive change, and to accomplish this, it offers a continuum of services for youth and their families with a focus on mental health, housing/sheltering, and youth justice.
