Susan Manwaring receives the 2021 Jane Burke-Robertson Award of Excellence in Charity and Not-For-Profit

Miller Thomson is pleased to announce that Susan Manwaring, Partner and Leader of the firm’s Social Impact Group, was awarded the 2021 Jane Burke-Robertson Award of Excellence in Charity and Not-For-Profit Law.

As noted by the Canadian Bar Association’s Charity and Not-for-Profit Law Section, this award was established in 2014 to “recognize, honour and celebrate a lawyer who has made an exceptional contribution and/or achievement in the development of charity and not-for-profit law in Canada.” Awarded every two years at the association’s National Charity Law Symposium, recipients are chosen for their  “significant contributions to the legal profession in the area of charity and not-for-profit law through writing, speaking, volunteering and/or pro-bono work; excellent reputation in the practice of law or academia; and demonstrated leadership and service in the charity and not-for-profit law sector.”
