Amanda Stacey, a partner in our Private Client Services and Social Impact teams, specializes in estate planning, tax, and charity and not-for-profit law. With a deep understanding of complex estate planning, Amanda provides counsel on family business succession planning, estate planning and administration, including drafting wills, trusts, and powers of attorney, as well as advising executors and trustees on complex estate and trust administration.As an International Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, Amanda also provides advice on cross-border matters, including planning for non-residents of Canada who own Canadian property, advising multinational families with ties to Canada, and assisting foreign executors and trustees with Canadian estate and succession matters. Amanda has in-depth experience advising financial institutions on estate, trust, probate, capacity planning, and registered plan matters.
Amanda is a past chair of the Canadian Association of Gift Planners and currently serves on the Board of Directors and as Secretary of the CAGP Foundation. Amanda is a frequent writer and speaker for STEP, CLEBC, the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, Osgoode Professional Development, the Law Society of Ontario, the Canadian Tax Foundation, the Ontario Bar Association, and the Pacific Business Law Institute.
Amanda is actively involved in professional organizations and is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), the Canadian Association of Gift Planners, the Canadian Bar Association, the Canadian Tax Foundation and the Estate Planning Council of Vancouver. Her knowledge and experience has been recognized by Chambers Canada, Chambers High Net Worth Guide, Lexpert, Best Lawyers, and Who’s Who Legal Canada. She also has her TEP designation from STEP.
