Overview
As Chief Operating Officer and an ex-officio member of the executive committee, David is responsible for leading Miller Thomson’s operational and administrative teams, enhancing its operational capabilities and furthering the development and effective execution of its strategic plans.
Prior to joining Miller Thomson, David was Chief Client Officer for the Canadian region of a global law firm where he was a member of the firm’s National Management Committee, with responsibility for leading the Client Development, Marketing, Communications and Business Intelligence teams, as well as working directly with partners, firm leaders and clients.
Prior to his role as Chief Client Officer, David was Executive Vice-President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary at Hudson’s Bay Company (HBC) and a member of the executive leadership team. In this role, he worked closely with the board of directors on a broad range of board and corporate governance matters and had responsibility for supporting all HBC North American banners, including Hudson’s Bay, Saks Fifth Avenue, Saks Off 5th, and Lord & Taylor in the areas of legal, asset protection (including investigations and compliance), risk management and records management.
David is a lawyer by profession and practiced for seven years in the corporate group of a large Canadian law firm before joining HBC.
