Overview

Philippe St-Louis is a partner in the Montreal office and focuses his practice on corporate and commercial law with an emphasis on M&A, private equity, venture capital and equity and debt financing. He acts for businesses at all stages of their growth, advising them in the context of major transactions, in their capacity as buyer or seller, while also providing practical and timely legal advice in connection with their daily operational matters. Moreover, Philippe has led numerous private equity and venture capital deals on behalf of investment funds and issuers alike.

In addition, Philippe is a leader in the area of entertainment and media law where he advises clients involved in a variety of industries including film, television, gaming, new media and music. In particular, Philippe represents television and film producers, video game studios, visual effects and animation studios, distributors, banks, financiers and artists, offering his clients a comprehensive suite of legal services in order to bring their projects to fruition.

Philippe holds a master’s degree in entertainment law from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and, at various times, Philippe has been a member of the in-house legal department of a Canadian broadcaster, an American cable television channel and a major Hollywood studio.

As a transactional lawyer, Philippe prides himself on being solution-oriented, versatile and focused on the key business issues based on his clients’ needs.
