In December 2019, 24 Ontario Health Teams (OHTs) were approved to proceed to implementation, and another 41 are “In Development”. Wave 2 Self-Assessments were submitted in December and the Ministry of Health intends to announce Wave 2 of OHTs to submit to Full Application in March 2020. OHTs are to be self-determined and fit-for-purpose and all team members are required to formalize their relationships through written governance agreements. OHTs are actively engaged in the design and development of Collaborative Governance Models and leadership frameworks among their members.
To assist and support Boards of Directors in advancing their organization’s interest in the design and development of their local OHT’s Collaborative Governance Models, we will be hosting a Directors Series webinar on January 28, 2020 at 12:00 p.m. entitled “Collaborative Governance in Ontario Health Teams: What Directors Need to Know”, presented by Karima Kanani.
This session will cover:
- Status Update on Ontario Health Teams
- Ontario Health Teams Leadership and Governance Requirements
- Key Features and Challenges with Collaborative Governance Models
- Role of the Board in Ontario Health Teams
This program is eligible for up to 1.0 Substantive Hour of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) credits with the Law Society of Ontario (LSO). Note: Participants intending to claim LSO CPD credits are required to register individually and participate in the live webinar.
