Canada Inc. decisions confirm the principle that a clear and unequivocal exclusion of the legal warranty in a deed of sale constitutes an express waiver by the buyer of any legal warranty, preventing subsequent buyers from having recourse against any previous seller.

LAW CONCERNING EXPROPRIATION: MAJOR REFORM OF QUEBEC LAW – BILL 22

Since 2017, several special laws have been enacted to frame major public transit infrastructure projects. These legislative measures have established a legal framework aimed at facilitating the realization of projects such as the REM, subways, and trams. However, a persistent challenge remains: the high cost of expropriation indemnities, which represents a significant portion of the budgets allocated to these projects. The presentation will explore the different principles of expropriation compensation (UMEPP and Planning Blight) currently in force, applied by Quebec courts and those that will soon be introduced in the Quebec legal landscape.

MODERNIZATION OF ENERGY TRANSITION: LEGISLATIVE AND REGULATORY FRAMEWORK
