Overview

Camille Ingarao will focus her practice on administrative, municipal, urban planning and environmental law. She has particular expertise in zoning, land use planning, environmental policy, municipal taxation and expropriation matters. She represents her clients before public and judicial bodies and advises them on various litigious and strategic issues.

Camille represents and advises individuals, businesses and professionals in planning and carrying out real estate projects, the exercise of uses, buildings and constructions implantation, and managing of real estate assets. She focuses her practice on the following areas: compliance with applicable statutes and regulations, recognition and application of acquired rights, obtaining and contesting permits, certificates of authorization or occupancy, regulatory amendments or other authorizations (minor exemptions, special construction, modification or occupancy projects for buildings, conditional uses, site planning and architectural integration plans, comprehensive development plans, etc.), and recognizing or contesting rights of way or easements.

She also represents and supports clients throughout the expropriation process against municipalities, government departments  or other government bodies, including in actions involving disguised expropriation or to contest notices of expropriation .

She leverages her municipal tax experience to advise and represent clients in challenging entries on the property assessment roll, municipal taxes’ exemptions,  loan by-laws’ adoption and application, contributions for the purposes of parks, and application of transfer duties and development charges.

Prior to joining Miller Thomson, Camille began her legal career with boutique law firms working in municipal, environmental and public real estate law, first as an articling student and then as a litigation lawyer.
