Portrait of Stuart Chaimberg

Overview

Stuart Chaimberg is a partner in the Real Estate Group at Miller Thomson LLP specializing in the area of commercial leasing.

Stuart is a member of the Bars of Ontario and Quebec and is fluently bilingual in English and French. He regularly advises clients on matters involving both common law and civil law concepts inherent in commercial leasing and real estate transactions across Canada.

Stuart has extensive experience in all aspects of commercial leasing, and deals with matters relating to retail, office, industrial, restaurant, mixed use and hospitality properties. His involvement encompasses all stages of the commercial lease process, commencing with negotiations prior to any documentation being signed and continuing with advising clients as required throughout the term of the lease. Stuart’s practice is evenly balanced between representing landlords and tenants, thus enabling him to understand the reasons or interests underlying the positions often advanced by the other party to the transaction, and to provide practical advice to resolve outstanding issues.

Stuart is often called upon to assist with large scale commercial transactions that have a leasing component, as well as portfolio and redevelopment projects. In connection with such transactions, he has been intimately involved with the acquisition due diligence process.
