Team Heading
Alicia York is an active member of Miller Thomson’s Commercial Litigation Group. Alicia maintains a general civil and commercial litigation practice, with interest and experience in contractual issues, shareholder disputes and insurance matters, including professional liability claims, disability insurance claims and coverage disputes. She also has experience in estate litigation, matrimonial property litigation and administrative and regulatory matters. Alicia assists a wide variety of clients and has experience drafting multifaceted legal opinions and interpreting complex corporate and financial documents. She has appeared before various levels of Court in commercial litigation, estate and family matters.
Alicia is known for her commitment to community service. Her experience ranges from mentoring initiatives with Big Brothers Big Sisters, to contributing to significant research projects at the Alberta Hospital. Alicia also remains actively involved in the Edmonton legal community, serving as a volunteer lawyer with both the Civil Claims Duty Counsel (CCDC) Project and the Alberta Court of King’s Bench Amicus Program.
Prior to joining the firm, Alicia obtained her Juris Doctor from the University of Alberta, where she graduated with distinction and was the recipient of several academic scholarships.
