David Cichy practises exclusively in the area of civil litigation, particularly in commercial, product liability, tort, oil and gas, and insurance dispute resolution. With extensive experience handling complex losses, claims, and disputes in the industrial, oil and gas, and commercial sectors, David is recognized for his knowledge and experience in resolving disputes efficiently. His background includes certification by the Alberta Fire Prevention Branch in fire investigation (cause determination) and he has appeared before all levels of court in Alberta and the Supreme Court of Canada.
David is an accomplished author, having penned “Technology and ‘Building the Perfect Case’: Creating the Bionic Lawyer”, published in Law Now in April 1994.
Active in the legal community, David is a member of the Canadian Bar Association and has lectured for the Law Society of Alberta Bar Admission courses on Civil Litigation and Negotiation. David is a King’s Counsel, and was appointed Queen’s Counsel in 2006. His early legal training involved articling with the Alberta Court of Appeal and Queen’s Bench in 1985.
