Overview
James maintains a general civil and commercial litigation practice, including advising and representing clients in relation to a variety of corporate, commercial, and contract law matters. James also has experience assisting clients with administrative and security enforcement matters.
James completed his articles with Miller Thomson after joining the firm for a summer placement in 2021. James obtained his Juris Doctor with Distinction from the University of Alberta in 2023 and clerked with the Honourable Justice T. Wakeling of the Court of Appeal of Alberta.
Prior to attending law school, James obtained his Bachelor of Education with Distinction from the University of Alberta. James later worked as a teacher with the Edmonton Public School Board and the Calgary Board of Education.
During law school, James served on the Editorial Committee of the Alberta Law Review, participated in the Jessup International Law Moot, and worked as a Writing Fellow, where he helped teach the Legal Research and Writing course to first-year law students.
