Overview
Jasmine de Guise practises civil litigation with an emphasis on insurance. She has extensive experience in civil liability, product liability, personal injury and fraud detection. Jasmine is pragmatic, meticulous and attuned to her clients’ needs. Her focus is on effective results, availability and clear communication.
As part of her practice, Jasmine drafts opinions and proceedings, represents clients before the courts and negotiates insurance, particularly in the areas of general liability, manufacturer’s liability, construction participant liability and personal injury.
Over the last few years, Jasmine has represented clients in major insurance matters. Some of these matters resulted in significant decisions for Quebec’s insurance industry.
She also taught a training course on the burden of proof, which was recognized by the Barreau du Québec in June 2020. This course was given internally to hundreds of insurance industry professionals at Promutuel Assurance.
Jasmine also co-wrote several articles related to the property and casualty insurance industry. They were published by the Chambre de l’assurance de dommages: L’exclusion « soin, garde et contrôle » en 2017 (June 2017), L’application de la théorie du « Continuous Trigger » en droit québécois, (September 2015). She also lectured on civil liability at HEC Montréal.
With nearly a decade of civil and commercial litigation experience in various areas, she has developed extensive in-court representation skills. Her years in private practice have taught her how to be a clear communicator who is available and attentive to her clients’ needs. Her work in insurance led her to optimize her efficiency and organization skills.
