Overview
Kira Lagadin is a member of Miller Thomson’s business law group. Her primary focus areas are restructuring and insolvency and mergers and acquisitions, though she continues to practice corporate commercial law broadly.
Kira obtained her J.D. from the University of Victoria in 2023, and was called to the Alberta bar in 2024. During law school, Kira was awarded the Securities Law award for obtaining the highest grade in the securities law course. In 2022, she competed in the BC Law Schools Moot, where her team made submissions on a civil litigation matter and won first place. Kira also led the Pro Bono Students Canada University of Victoria Chapter from 2022 – 2023, where she coordinated more than 150 students to provide free legal services to over 30 non-profit organizations in the Victoria area.
Prior to entering law school, Kira obtained a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Calgary, and worked as a Project Manager at a digital marketing agency in Calgary. In this role, Kira gained valuable experience managing projects for clients in the oil & gas, retail, tourism and non-profit industries.
