Overview

Melinda Tomlinson is an associate in Miller Thomson’s real estate group.

Melinda’s practice focuses primarily on commercial real estate, including purchase and sale transactions, financing, and leasing. She also maintains a general corporate and commercial law practice. Melinda has developed a strong focus on real estate financing and has routinely acted for both lenders and borrowers on a range of commercial and residential finance transactions. She has extensive experience in the area of private lending and has advised clients on administering private mortgage companies, mortgage syndications, construction financing, and mortgage enforcement.

Real Estate Transactions: Melinda represents private individuals and corporate clients in a range of residential and commercial transactions, including acquisition/disposition, financing, and leasing transactions.

Private Mortgage Financing: Melinda represents borrowers and lenders in securing loans against residential and commercial real estate. She also advises lenders on establishing and structuring administration and co-lending relationships.

Corporate and Commercial: Melinda works with businesses on a variety of matters including incorporation, restructuring, financing, and shareholder agreements.

Prior to joining Miller Thomson, Melinda was an associate at a mid-sized firm in Waterloo where much of her practice was dedicated to real estate financing for private individuals and corporate clients. Her work with lenders and borrowers has provided her with a strong understanding of the needs on both sides of financing transactions.
