Overview
Michael Carli practises real estate, commercial and intellectual property law. He has extensive experience acting for financial institutions and other lenders in commercial mortgage transactions. Michael also has a robust practice in mortgage recovery and resolution, acting for financial institutions and private lenders for more than 30 years. His practice also includes sophisticated commercial real estate purchases, sales and leasing.
As a respected Canadian trademark agent and lawyer, Michael has advised numerous well-known companies on brand preservation and protection, covering a wide range of industries. In addition to prosecuting Canadian trademark applications, Michael has successfully served clients in trademark oppositions and Section 45 proceedings.
Prior to joining Miller Thomson, Michael was a partner at a boutique real estate law firm which he co-founded in 1989.
Michael is an active participant in his community. He was one of the founding directors of Villanova College and served as its Chair. He is currently the Vice-Chair of Easter Seals Ontario and serves as its pro bono counsel. He is also pro bono counsel to other charitable organizations.
