Overview
Spencer Norris is an experienced litigator and corporate lawyer in the areas of insolvency, restructuring, commercial litigation, debt recovery, and enforcement. Spencer prides himself in providing pragmatic advice and solutions to his clients, in order to come to resolutions efficiently and effectively.
Spencer represents a number of banks and financial institutions with respect to their relations with their clients and borrowers. He also advises corporate clients on restructuring, lender and supplier relations, and shareholder/partner disputes. Spencer regularly represents court-appointed officers, such as receivers, bankruptcy trustees, and monitors in various restructuring proceedings.
During his career, Spencer has represented his clients in matters varying from small litigation and debt recovery matters to restructurings involving hundreds of millions dollars.
Spencer studied commerce and worked for various small, medium and international enterprises prior to beginning his legal career. Spencer comes from a family-owned farming business in Southern Alberta, and is the author of the bi-weekly CALN LexisNexis Agriculture Law Netletter publication.
Prior to joining Miller Thomson, Spencer articled and practiced in an international law firm.
