Tom Ghag is a member of the tax group. His practice focuses on corporate tax, sales tax and global trade matters. Tom is committed to offering clients practical solutions and advice tailored to their unique needs.
Tom advises on corporate tax matters, including corporate reorganizations, distributions to shareholders, succession planning, securitizations and cross-border transactions.
Tom’s sales tax practice focuses on assisting clients with navigating sales tax obligations across various industries and jurisdictions within Canada. He has extensive experience with the GST/HST and the provincial sales taxes in British Columbia, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.
In the area of global trade, Tom provides legal and strategic advice to clients navigating trade compliance audits, economic sanctions, export controls, and other issues arising from the movement of goods and the provision of services across international borders. He has assisted clients in many areas of the economy, including apparel, e-commerce, education, energy, first nations, food, manufacturing, marine and mining.
Tom is a contributing author to multiple Canadian Tax Foundation publications and Miller Thomson Tax Notes articles.
