Team Heading

Jonathan, a seasoned partner and corporate transactional lawyer based in Toronto, provides practical advice and solutions for Canadian and international clients primarily in the areas of corporate finance, securities, mergers and acquisitions, and stream and royalty finance. Jonathan has extensive experience advising public and private issuers, foreign and domestic investment banks, trusts, governments, boards of directors, special committees, lenders and targets. His knowledge spans various industries, including mining and other resource sectors, technology, real estate, life sciences, and financial services. Issuers routinely rely on Jonathan’s legal proficiency in assisting with identifying and accessing capital through each stage of a business’ lifecycle.

Jonathan is an instructor for both the Corporate Finance and Securities Regulation courses at Windsor Law School, as well as a regular guest lecturer for the Law & Business course at the Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU). He is a founder and co-chair of Breakfast of Champions in support of SickKids, which is an annual fundraiser that has raised over $1 million for SickKids Foundation. Additionally, he is a member of the Executive Committee of MLSE’s young professionals group, Game Changers.

Jonathan is affiliated with various industry committees and organizations, and has collected several accolades in recognition of his knowledge and experience. He is a recipient of the Lexpert Rising Stars Award, which celebrates Canada’s leading lawyers under 40. He has also been named by Lexpert as a “Leading Lawyer to Watch” in the category of Corporate Finance and Securities. He previously served as a member of the Continuous Disclosure Committee of the Ontario Securities Commission (OSC), and is currently a member of the OSC Small Business Advisory Committee.
