The intent of the Employment Standards Act is to ensure that everyone takes their vacation each year. It’s not about making sure you can bank your vacation. The whole underlying principle is to ensure people take their vacation each year and considering some of the things you’ve seen on the news recently with increases of burnout amongst employees, this is a really important thing for employees and employers alike to be mindful of: making sure you don’t find yourself at the end of the year where you have unused vacation.
