Jay Hoffman and Maryam Zargar speak to Law.com International on the growth of the Business Law Group in Vancouver with the recent addition of the Zargar Lawyers team:
The firm, which has 11 offices across Canada, is actively in growth mode, Jay Hoffman, chair of Miller Thomson’s business law group told Law.com International. The hire of Zargar and her team, counsel Sarah Kalil and associate Brandon Gill, is part of Miller Thomson’s strategy for bulking up the corporate group in the Vancouver market, he said.

Zargar said her practice has a heavy focus on technology, digital health, and mobile software and design companies, a burgeoning market in Vancouver, as well as an overall emphasis on the mid-market.
She said Miller Thomson has indicated that mid-market clients in Vancouver are a target area for growth and she is confident there are a lot of growth opportunities resulting from a « drastic increase in transaction activity » she’s been seeing recently.
« Our plans are aligned in terms of growth, southbound in terms of opportunities coming from the U.S. in the tech area and other areas, » said Hoffman.
