Aperçu

Jaya Scott is an incoming third year student at the Peter A. Allard School of Law at the University of British Columbia. This past year, she was an oralist on the UBC Jessup Moot team and a clinician at the UBC International Justice and Human Rights clinic. Jaya’s interests primarily include litigation, environmental law, and aboriginal law. Jaya is a member of UBC’s environmental law group, for which she co-organized the 2023 Negotiation Competition.

Jaya was one of four Canadian youth representatives to the 2022 G7 Presidency through the Youth7 Dialogue and Summit. She was co-chair of the Jane Goodall Institute Youth Advisory Council in 2021-2022, and a speaker at the 2021 United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change Conference (UNFCCC ) of Youth which preceded COP26 in Glasgow.

In her spare time, Jaya enjoys ballet, reading fantasy and sci-fi novels, and hiking.
