Matthew Gray practices in the area of commercial real estate at Miller Thomson. Matthew focuses primarily on real estate transactions, residential and commercial development and commercial financing. He has a broad range of experience in negotiation and advocacy in the context of completing major land transactions, expropriations, new home sales and commercial mortgages. Matthew’s clients include land developers, builders and other corporations.

Matthew provides advice and has assisted with the preparation of land exchange agreements, joint venture agreements, agreements of purchase and sale, commercial leases and cost-sharing agreements for major residential builders and land developers. He also has experience in the organization and reorganization of corporations.

After graduating from law school, Matthew worked at another leading national law firm as an articling student and associate where he practiced litigation and gained experience in negotiation, mediation and advocacy, both inside and outside the courtroom. Matthew then worked at a boutique commercial real estate firm before joining Miller Thomson.

Prior to becoming a lawyer, Matthew worked as a legislative staff member at Queen’s Park, following which he started his own business as a government relations consultant where he lobbied for a variety of clients including a major provincial trade association and labour union.

  • Represented a variety of large and mid-sized land developers, builders and other corporations in connection with real estate transactions, commercial financing and loans, expropriations, the registration of condominium plans and plans of subdivision, commercial leases and joint venture agreements.
